There are several buses that connects Helsinki Airport to Helsinki City Centre and other destinations.

There are different lines that operates to/from the HEL airport. The bus stops are located outside both terminals, when arriving at airport check the timetables for public transport at arrivals floor from both terminals.

Public Buses There are some buses that connects the airport with Helsinki city centre:

- Line 617: operates from Monday to Friday on rush hours. The route is from the airport to Hakaniemi Market, in the city centre.

- Line 615: operate between the airport and Helsinki Railway Station. Some other buses connect Helsinki airport with different cities in the country. You can check the timetable in Matkahuolto. Check these buses here.

- Bus 615 (Rautatientori-Kartanonkoski-Airport)
- Bus 415N (Elielinaukio-Myyrmäki-Airport)
- Bus 562N (Mellunmäki-Tikkurila-Airport)  

Finnair Bus This bus connects the airport with the city centre (Central railway station) every 20 minutes. The price of this ticket is 6,20€. Check the schedule and buy tickets online here.

Free Airport Bus There is a free bus that circulates between the parking areas and the terminals every 15minutes from 03:30AM to 01:30AM

The train connection between Helsinki city centre and Helsinki airport was opened in 2015.

The train station is located on the arrivals floor, between terminals 1 and 2.

Travel time from HEL airport railway station to Helsinki Central Station is about 30 minutes. There are two lines of train stopping at the airport:

- Line “I” train: runs via Huopalahti to Helsinki Central Station

- Line “P” train: Runs to Helsinki Central Station via Tikkurila. Tikkurila Railway Station is 8 km from the airport. Nearly all long-distance and most commuter trains stops at Tikkurila.

There are also trains that run to other cities, as Lahti or Tampere, and others connect with foreign cities as Moscow or Saint Petersburg.

Regular Taxi

The cost to go from the airport to Helsinki City Centre is approximatelly 50€ and it takes 30 minutes to reach the destination.

The taxi ranks are outside Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 and accept to pay with cash and common credit cards.


Other operators

There are other taxi operators that offers fixed price services. The service is shared with other passengers, but is cheaper. There are three companies:
